Daniel Goffman – Brainerd Dispatch

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Dan Goffman, of Brainerd MN (living in Cocolalla, ID), passed away suddenly in his sleep on October 9, 2022.

Dan was born on July 20, 1983 and is survived by his mother and father (Ron and Nancy), his brother and sister-in-law (Michael and Joy), his nephew (Kai) and his significant other (Kirsten), who are all he will miss forever.

Former MN Governor Jesse Ventura was asked what his biggest fear was. He replied, “To survive my children. The sting of these words is deeply felt by his family. Dan’s incredible smile, laid back character and suffocating bear hugs will be missed.

Dan graduated from Brainerd High School in 2001 and Northwest Technical Institute in 2003. After graduation, Dan became a designer at Polaris. Eventually, he started his own design company and currently holds several patents under his name. His business was an instant success and eventually he and Kirsten moved to the mountains of northern Idaho to be closer to what they loved: snowboarding, mountain biking and wakeboarding.

True to Dan’s style, a celebration of lakeside living complete with boating, BBQ and bonfires will be held in the Brainerd Lakes area on his 40th birthday the weekend of July 22-23 2023. (Please contact family for details.)

“Uncle Dan” left us all far too soon and it’s hard to imagine what the world will be like without him. If you’re reading this Dan, we love you to the moon and back.
