China’s State Council on Friday issued guidelines on supporting high-quality development in downtown Beijing.
All municipal Party and government institutions will move to the city center located in Tongzhou District by 2025, according to the guidelines.
By 2035, the construction of a modern city center will be completed and it will form a high-quality development with the surrounding areas.
The nation will support qualified businesses in downtown and surrounding areas in mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, share transfers, bond issuance and asset securitization. Existing assets are expected to be revitalized through the operation and construction of infrastructure projects.
The city center will be built as a financial innovation center for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The country will encourage more financial institutions to set up offices there, especially green finance organizations and international green investment groups.
