PARIS (Reuters) – European aeronautics and defense conglomerate Airbus is interested in taking over the cybersecurity activities of French software maker Atos, BFM TV said on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Airbus did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
BFM, in its report, quoted a source as saying that Airbus had studied a possible acquisition of Atos in recent weeks, motivated by its interest in the field of cybersecurity, but added that at this stage, no outright control was in progress. cards.
“Guillaume Faury (CEO of Airbus) believes that this subject (Atos) is too complicated given the interests of Airbus,” said BFM quoting a source.
The report adds that the group therefore chose not to buy Atos as a whole because it had no interest in acquiring the other activities of the French company.
